And while you're at it... please get rid of that ridiculous "dot" that mages give now.... Its like 200 + 240 + 220 damage every second... if 5 mages use that skill, you get 5*200*3/sec (3k damage for u math wizards) just in damage over time + the actual damage of that skill 5*800 (4k).

I did that, I shortened the DOT time to 5 seconds, instead of 20 seconds, Its the same amount of damage, but it's just faster. Which is less of a load on the server. I'll talk to flegy about getting the nova's to have a lower effect, IE making them look like the 32 AOE. I'll see what flegy wants to do, Thanks for the suggestion papi, we will see what we can work on. Thanks for everyone's opinion.

how come i NEVER DC because of nova's then ? yea my pc is the best out there atm. and i have a 30mbit connection + the server is located in germany and i live in holland, so i don't have any lag at all. im not defending the server, cuz if it was true what you said i would have agreed aswell. same story for epi btw, he lives right near me.

so if some people don't have any problems at all, and some people do. its kinda obvious that its not a server related problem.

didn't fantasy or robert made a patch that removes the nova graphics ? get that one if your pc cannot handle it !

I belive people get DC'd from the DOT Damage, I live in america, have a Wonderful PC, and have a 12mb connection. But, because the server is so far from me, i get DC'd alot. It's mainly server location, and routing stations that make people DC.

Im from the uk, 12mb connection on a good day, with nova patch and I never dc from nova, but id like level 45 skill animation, just cause my comp can't handle all the novas.

Yeah chap, the 5 second idea might sound great... but it isn't really... its too much damage too quickly. If it was hard to resist a nova spam before, now it's downright impossible. I do think the dc's are related to the dot damage but you might have to remove it all together. Ppl with the nova patch still get dc's... so i dont think it has to do with the animations.

And Dar, i hardly ever see you play during peek hours (4pm-9pm). This is when the server sucks a big fat cock. And I don't know about holland, but the server is at least 12 hops from france, portugal, or US (these are the countries i've played from)...with that many hops, you're bound to trip and fall once in a while....

This is the exact message i've sent to flegy.

Hey flegy! I've got a brilliant suggestion! Remove the Damage over time damage from Nova's, rememer we edited it down to 5 seconds, instead of 20 seconds. But, it didnt help with the DC'ing problem. My suggestion is, Removing the DOT damage completley, and adding 1k damage to the base damaage, Because DOT damage tics for about 200 per second, for 5 seconds = 1000 damage. So, 1k base damage total, to all the AOE skills that have damage over time, ( meteor fall, supernova, And other skills) i think would STRONGLY reduce DC problems with people, and would prevent the mages from complaining. It's just a suggestion, i talked it over with fipce, and he agrees.

just because you dont see "Darwish" ingame doesn't mean i'm never online during those hours. i actually play under a different name most of the times. but that doesn't matter.

to chap, i like the idea of removing the DOT damage, if some people's pc/connection can't handle that. but we should certainly NOT increase the damage with 1000. 1-200 should be fine. or stay as it is.
