I just checked some chars on panel and checked tutorials section and I have found a few different way to play mage.

For the stats, I saw that with hero armor, you have different possibilties :
>Int hero , 175 int mini around 200 mp and rest in hp/str. Higher ac , lower hp and ap, right?
> MP hero, 255 mp rest hp. low ac, hp a litle bit more and high ap?

For the weapons, I think the most played are Cstaff/fulitol/helltorch (+ faun and molok) for 2 handed staff, hero and tstaff for one handed and nfs or tshield for shield. its ok ?

Now I would like to know what choice of skills I have. I think 85 flame 60 ice 7 master is one of them but there sould be others.
Can you give me some example or what you use?

Last point is the most problematic for me as I have never played mage high lvl before. What skills are the most used in pk? in farming? For novas, I think its ok but there is still staff attack and unique attack. I saw that distance of efect and damage change a lot from one to another skill.

Can someone help me with all that mage stuff? (I think it could also help some new players)

If your MP/flame you got 2 options: 85F - 60I - 5M | 85F - 42I - 25M.
As lighting you have 3 options: 80L - 60I - 10M | 80L - 45I - 25M | 85L - 60I - 5M. (Doesnt matter if your MP or INT)

About skills..
Farming ones:
Staff & manes you only need those both,you can use deadly fire also(High far dmg).
PK:
Staff, deadly fire,igzination,incineration,and if you still need some fire thron,fire impact and pillar of fire. You can also use ignition.Why not manes? if your target is not moving, manes & staff is the way .

About stats :
While using MP heros : 255 MP,rest HP like 157 if i am not wrong
At least i would not use INT heros with over 151 MP points.
So my suggestion in case you play as support is:
Heros INT : 175INT - 151 MP - 91STR(You can wear c.mace&t.shield) rest goes to HP.

You say that use manes and staff when target not moving or for farming. You use both or you choose one depending of which one make the msot damage on the target?

Is there a huge difference in damage with different mp stat values? (like 151 mp, 200 mp, 255 mp )

Farming => Staff & manes
Pk => Staff makes more dmg, but if you got chance to do staff & manes,well do it ;D

And ye, there is a big diff between 151mp -> 200-> 255mp
