Try this method
you needed latest version of direct X, and latest version of graphics card drivers or just use reboot if it doesn't work so...
or try this another method
go to start -> run ->type in dxdiag
wait for the screen to come up, and click on the 3rd tab over (display) and make sure the boxes labeled direct draw acceleration, direct 3d acceleration, and AGP texture acceleration are checked. hit save all information and you should be fine.
Last option is
re-installing the game once again and make sure your antivirus off with downloading all patches also
