last night I re-patched the game so that I could play again today.. I tried loading up last night and as soon as I click "START" - the launcher closes and nothing else opens

inb4 "Turn ur anti-virus off!" - its already off, any other solutions rather than re-downloading?

Guess the anti virus deleted smth there again. So i'd

1.: Try to retrieve whatever was deleted. Usually anti viruses isolate the threat, putting them into quarantine, so you can try to go there and retrieve them.

2.: If you didn't find them or the 1st option didn't work for whatever reason, i'd repatch the game again ----> game folder ---> modify server.ini's patch number to a couple of patch earlier.

3.: If neither of them helped kinda the only way left to redownload / reinstall.
And ye make sure to have the anti virus turned off everytime you wanna start the mage.
