OK so i just bought a new computer, and my internet is fucked up, it stops and starts all the time, i log into KO for like 30 seconds - 2minutes and it crashes, and DC's me. Its a wireless internet BTHomehub, and im on windows7Home edition.
Also when i go on Youtube, it doesnt BUFFER fast, it takes forever. ive not got a slow computer its my internet, any1 know how can sort this problem ?

You could try to update your router, maybe its to outdated for windows 7.

depends on wich router you have. some routers have an option in the admin system itself.

open cmd, write ipconfig. then if you see an ip like this. 192.168.0.1 (thats ur router/network ip) type that ip in your adress bar and it should connect to it. you have to know the login/passw for it tough.

its usually the standardgateway ip.. or your ipv4

BThomehub.. had one of them for 2 years, great when it works, terrible when it doesn't.

I had same problem with mine, make sure it's not near anything else that can interfear with it, wireless phones, electronics, tv, etc. Also, if your phone line and internet are going into the same phone line, make sure you use the BT ASDL splitter for phone/internet that comes with it.

I just phoned up BT and i got some indian guy telling me to do loads of things, it was working then he said it was wonderful speaking to you, and i tried it 5mins later and it still didnt work!. lol just got an upgraded bthomehub 2.0 and still the same thing.

i have a socket in the wall with a space for my phone line and a space for my broadband line. the closest tv is 4 metres away, and nothing else, but my home phone is right next to the router, on its charger???

any more help would be appreciated

The phone could easily be messing it up, try moving it away if you haven't already.
