The thought behind the lower spear defense is the "dual 1h weapons".
As you know, a Warrior with duals has got lots of AP but...
he will hit most targets much lower than someone with a 2h weapon.
The reason why this isnt working correct, is the high wep defense - which counts twice on duals.
This is especially noticable if they hit a Priest with a shield.
Since warriors usually have a 1h spear when using duals, we can adjust it a lil by bringing down spear def. The only problem is to balance it with the 2h Chaos Spear.
It will be a compromise...cant fully balance it.
Since an average Priest has got around 60 spear def (with CS he had almost 80)
To make 1h duals and 2h weapon hit correct the wep def should not be higher than 30...(similar to Daggers).
Ofc we cant achieve this!
but I try to balance things a bit (Daggers work almost correct now).
Already increased AP on the 1h weapons a lot - I actually dont want to increase that more. But maybe we can still give 1h chaos spear a lil bit more AP (that item seems useless atm).
I did some dmg tests with 2h chaos spear and TSwords etc.. and didnt have the feel, that the spear is to OP but maybe we can nerf it just a tiny bit (1 or 2 AP)
Beside those thoughts I saw a small problem, that Mage and BP with CS seemed a tad to tanky. CS IMO always has been an OP Item (on every server).
btw, the spear def nerf on TShield was already some months ago.
