maybe because csword is 2h whereby cspear is 1h and its left side used, well lets see the GM answer :D

As Variaz said. The spear is 1h weapon so you need other spear to get full dmg till the sword is 2h weapon, thats all. Get tier or h spear to your cspear and would be great. :)
